Junos Juniper Router Configuration Setup on GNS3

Now you can prepare, learn and practice for juniper certification exam JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP on your pc computer desktop or laptop without the need of real hardware.
By using the GNS network simulator and VirtualBox -Virtual Machine VM you can emulate the Juniper router (Junos operation system OS)

Here is the complete steps for Junos Juniper Router Configuration Setup on GNS3 using VirtualBox.’

  1. Download and install GNS3 (straight forward)
  2. Download and install VirtualBox (straight forward)
  3. Download the Junos Olive Image file here
  4. Import Junos Image file to VirtualBox
  5. Open GNS3 - go to VirtualBox – VirualBox VM
  6. Select VM list – Junos Olive
  7. Click on edit and under network select number of adapter 6 and click ok
  8. Apply the settings and click ok
  9. Now on GNS3 Drag the Junos Olive VM router to work area and click start
  10. Login: - root hit enter
  11. root@% cli now you will get the command line interface of Junos
  12. Type edit for configuration
  13. Set system root-authentication plain-text-password and type new password & retype Password this step is necessary while saving the configuration on router
  14. Now you can configure the Juniper Router interfaces etc.

  1. I am having an issue accessing the Junos Olive via Putty or SecureCRT. If I telnet the Junos Olive it shows all the boot process and even prompts for the login but doesn't accept any input after that. However i am able to put any/all commands through the VBoX window but that has some limitation such as scroll back and window size.
    Can you please suggest was is the solution and how i can configure it using Putty or SecureCRT
